Honey and Wax
Bjorn Apiaries produces 100% natural honey. We usually have light, medium, and a darker honey. We process what the bees give us. Honey normally collected by the bees earlier in the year, provides lighter varieties of honey. This honey may come from locust, fruit trees, and other early blooming flowers. Honey collected later in the summer and early fall, provide the medium and darker honey varieties. This honey may include a variety of nectar collected from aster, goldenrod, and host of summertime flowers. A good rule is that the lighter honey's are milder, and the darker honey has a bolder, richer taste.We do not heat or highly filter the honey. Our honey is strained for large pieces of wax and particles, leaving the nutritional value items, such as pollen, intact. For allergy sufferers and those using honey for health benefits, this is what you want. Pure, raw, unheated honey. We do not add flavors, chemicals, or other sweeteners. Our hives are maintained by natural management practices and we do not use chemicals in our hives. Healthier chemical free hives means chemical free honey.
